About Our Charities
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
Whether you are searching for a rewarding and special way to spend your time or looking for ways to renew your commitment to children, the patients and families at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta need you. For the children and families who need the high-quality care Children’s provides, the difference our Atlanta volunteers make is immeasurable.
Canine Pet Rescue
Canine Pet Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit animal rescue organization focusing on saving German Shepherds from high kill shelters in the South. Our dogs are kept in homes and socialized with people and other dogs. Most dogs live with founder Carla Brown and her husband Butch Conway on their horse farm in Dacula, GA. Carla has been active in rescue for over 10 years, and founded CPR in 2009 to concentrate her efforts on German Shepherds.
The Atlanta Children’s Shelter
Founded in 1986 by the Junior League of Atlanta and located in the North Avenue Presbyterian Church, the Atlanta Children’s Shelter provides free, quality day care, emotional support, an educational curriculum for homeless children, and focused social services for their families. Dedicated to helping families overcome the issues that contribute to homelessness, including domestic violence and job loss, the Atlanta Children’s Shelter focuses on the long term self sufficiency of the family – which sets us apart from other Atlanta homeless shelters. Since 1986, the Atlanta Children’s Shelter has cared for almost 8,000 children and provided services for more than 5,000 families.
Today there are over 100 million orphans in the world. Many organizations help them by facilitating the adoption of orphan babies and young children. Haven Bridge exists to support the older children who are left behind.
The Latin American Association
The Latin American Association helps Latino families achieve their aspirations for their academic, social and economic advancement. We accomplish this through direct programs and integrated community partnerships that focus on youth academic achievement, education and prevention, and services to families with urgent needs.
